Pornography Ring Broken in Orleans
New Orleans (AP) Three men were arrested yesterday after police confiscated thousands of pornographic pictures at their French Quarter apartment.
Held on obscenity charges in lieu of $2,500 bond were Frank Meo, 20, Edward C. Lotus Jr., 17, and Charles W. Gormley, 25, Meo and Lotus are originally from Elyria, Ohio. Gormley is from Atlanta.
Police also filed an obscenity charge against Don Sheldon, who was reportedly out of town.
Police said New Orleans apparently is part of a nationwide network involving the sale of pornographic pictures. The raided operation, called the Gentry Studio, had subscribers all over the country and in Australia, police said.
The pictures showed nude male models, many posing in women's clothes. Police said they plan to continue a roundup of models and others involved in the operation.
