Louis Voisinet, North Buffalo Pioneer, Dies
Sponsored Building Boom in That Area

One of North Buffalo’s early settlers, Louis N. Voisinet, 84 of 50 Englewood Ave., died at his home shortly befoe 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon. He had been ill about four months.

Born in the Town of Tonawanda, Mr. Voisinet worked his father’s farmland as a young man and later became engaged in the real estate, loan and insurance business. The old Voisinet homestead still is standing at Fairfield and Englewoood.

Remaining in the North Buffalo area all his life, Mr. Voisinet was responsible for the building boom in that part of the city. His residence in Englewood Ave., built in 1909, was one of the first “newer homes” in the development. Although he retired about five years ago, he still maintained an active interest in real estate and insurance.

He was the last man in North Buffalo who had attended the original St. Joseph’s Church in North Main St. The church since has been housed in three different buildings.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Norman A. Hansen, and three sons, Louis J. and Otto E., Baltimore, and Walter E. Voisinet. Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a. m. Saturday at Glancey’s Funeral Home, 2 University Ave., and at 10 o’clock at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in Pine Hill.
