001305: Armature Winding
About 1907
Postcard showing women working at a Westinghouse Electric factory. The caption reads "Street Car Armature Winding, Section S., Westinghouse Electric M'f'g. Co., East Pittsburgh, Pa." What appears to be a date is handwritten 3-27-'07, possibly March 27, 1907.
In the 1910 Federal Census, the occupation of Mary (Pohl) Milligan [00548], age 21, is listed as "coil winder" at the "electric works." This postcard probably depicts a scene similar to her and where she worked.
