010210: Obituary
07 June 1923
Obituary for Mary (McKee) Stewart [I00269]. Other evidence suggests Mary was born at Turtle Creek, and although she lived many years in Buffington Township, she was not born there and therefore she was not a "native" in that sense. This obituary mentions a son killed in action. That was Russell Thomas Stewart.

Mrs. Mary Stewart
Mrs. Mary Stewart, aged 68 years, widow of the late John G. Stewart, and a native of Buffington township, died at her home in Turtle Creek on Friday as the result of a stroke of paralysis. She was a daughter of the late James McKee and resided for many years near East Union United Presbyterian church, in Buffington township. Her husband died 30 years ago. She leaves these three sons and one daughter: Robert, Allen and John Stewart and Mrs. Mary Spicher [Spiker], all of Turtle Creek. Another son [Russell] was killed in action while in the service of his country oversea. Seventeen grandchildren are living. Funeral services were held on Sunday and burial was made at Turtle Creek. J. T. Stewart, of town, and W. G. Stewart, of Dilltown- brothers-in-law of the deceased, attended the funeral.
